Ordinance

A large platform with several buttons and a large floating ERROR model. There are several colored or textured buttons, each correlating to a movement or function command executed in the view renders. There are X, Y and Z axis buttons, three function buttons, and a render button.
Each button enables on-screen text when stood upon, relating to the relevant button.
This is the main controller for the view renders. Each colored button correlates to up or down on a given axis; the A, B and C buttons are used to perform various functions, and the render button sends the commands to the server for the next view render. This is the first map loaded after breaking the door in askask.
Discovered on 5/20/2025 via scraping by PromptGnostic1.
Accessed by breaking the rightmost door in askask.
Buttons:
- A (HINT): Place hint node, following movements move this node
- B (APOSE): Nop
- C (ARROW): Move NPC to hint node
- AB: Interact
- AC: Flashlight toggle
- BA: Noclip
- BC: Release NPC
- CA: Control NPC
- CB: Show Gizmo and third-person
When used locally with Sourcebox echos "unknown command sm_psay" to console. sm_psay is a real SourceMod command to private chat.
ord_zufunc

Identical to Ordinance, but without the floating ERROR. Sends a ZU command to view.
This map sends a command to the server to move up on the Z axis.
Found after standing on the ZU (solid blue) button in Ordinance.
ord_afunc

Identical to Ordinance, but instead of a floating ERROR, it's a Hint Node. Sends an A command to view.
This, as well as B and C, are function commands. They are used in combination with each other to perform various functions.
Spawns a Hint Node when pressed by itself with no other functions.
Found after standing on the A (hint node) button.
ord_bfunc

Identical to Ordinance, but instead of a floating ERROR, it's a wireframe of Judith Mossman from Half-Life 2. Sends a B command to view.
This, as well as A and C, are function commands. They are used in combination with each other to perform various functions.
Unknown for sure what happens when pressed by itself; originally did nothing, later changed depending on the context. Unable to get a concrete answer before ord_end.
Found after standing on the B (A-pose) button.
ord_cfunc

Identical to Ordinance, but instead of a floating ERROR, it's a male citizen from Half-Life 2. Sends a C command to view.
This, as well as A and B, are function commands. They are used in combination with each other to perform various functions.
Had no apparent function by itself, but allowed other commands when used with A or B.
Found after standing on the C (up arrow) button.
ord_cry

A large, white box with thick fog everywhere. There is a large ERROR model named "GH4JJ" (later used as a VUL sacrifice), and on-screen text that reads "yellowr". There is a .wav file that plays in the map of what sounds like a piano. After 41 seconds, the map slays all players, and quickly changes the map to view.
Notably, in the last view before this map appeared, there was a sound clip of the HL1 Vox saying "YELLOW", and this map says "yellowr" in it.
The server randomly changed to this map after Vertacyl (the first VUL sacrifice) died in the view renders.
There is also a script that is supposed to kill all players, then change to view, though this doesn't seem to run. These events have a name of "MAPGEN".
ord_end

A large, stark-white box with a checkered floor. In the center of the map is a DMNPC with the model "dmnpc_female01Tghys", named "contaienr". When loading in, text appears on screen that says "PLEASE PLUG IN A VALID INPUT DEVICE". Additionally, the player camera is not first-person, but instead follows a track orbiting the DMNPC in the center. Users are unable to see their own model, unless taunting, but can see other players.
This map either tells us that Ordinance is "over", or that we need to plug in a valid input device. It is unclear which is more correct at this time. No view renders have appeared since this map, leading most to believe that Ordinance is over.
After investigators voted to "Save and Quit" in the view renders, every button in Ordinance (except ord_ren) leads to this map.
ord_error

A large map similar to ord_ren and noaccess, but with a bright red light and a massive ERROR model. When loading this map, red text appears on screen saying "WERE SORRY, YOUR REQUEST CANNOT BE HEARD DUE TO UNHANDLED EXCEPTIONS PLEASE RE DEFINE ME". This map would appear several times later in the investigation when something killed the active pawn in the view renders.
Appears when something has gone wrong with the current pawn in the view renders, and signifies that the VUL door will open on the next server reset.
The first time Alistair was sent to this map, they were seemingly able to speak to the server, but it didn't always respond to their questions. The server never responded to user input after this.
While in ord_ren, all players except Alistair were kicked, and they were brought to this map.
ord_laugh

A large box with a yellow hazy fog. There is a large error model in the map, obscured by the fog. When joining, text appears on screen that says: "HELLOME...... :)))))) YOUS COMMANDER". However, the map contains logic to temporarily ban all online users, with the reason "YOU ARE NO CONTROL", and then switches the map to view. This map also contains a .wav file called "laugh_track".
This map appeared during the third sacrifice, which investigators seemingly had no control over. While doing a particularly long string of commands, this map appeared, as if to (quite literally) laugh at the attempt.
When investigators were idling on ord_ren after view #177, the server switched to ord_laugh.
ord_play

A copy of ord_end, but extremely dark instead of bright white. Instead of asking about an input device, it says "PLEASE INPUT A FILE"; there is also a "frame" that appears to be the right size for an in-game spray. Where the DMNPC was before, there's now a civilian radio model from Half-Life 2 named "contaienr".
After ord_end, this is the first new map CGE had produced in several months. Anomidae joined this map alone, sprayed something (we couldn't see what it was), and then the server went to ord_ren with no password. Afterwards, a new view was uploaded, and the server is stuck on ord_ren.
Anomi joined the server on View randomly, gave investigators a few codes to try, and left. Later, Maxim scraped ord_play from the server. The map was entered organically after putting ORD_PLAY into the askask keyboard and breaking the ask door.
Continue to Act IV
ord_ren

Similar to noaccess_v1, but with a large camera near the center of the room. The on-screen text now reads "RENDER REQUEST TO SERVER, PLEASE VIEW LATER".
This map tells us that our inputs were successfully recorded. The map itself doesn't have anything new in it (minus the camera), but it tells users that the inputs were recieved by the server.
Found after pressing the render button in Ordinance.
